Snowboard Wax and the Environment: How Eco-Friendly Wax Can Help

If you’re a snowboarder, you know the importance of waxing your board to keep it running smoothly and performing at its best. But have you ever stopped to think about the impact that traditional snowboard wax can have on the environment?

Most snowboard wax is made from petroleum by-products and contains fluorochemicals, which can be harmful to both the environment and human health. These chemicals can pollute waterways and harm wildlife, and some can even accumulate in the human body over time.

But there is an eco-friendly solution: plant-based snowboard wax. At Douk Snow, we use Face Freeze plant-based wax on all of our boards. This wax is made from 100% plants, with 0% petroleum and 0% fluorochemicals.

Not only is plant-based wax better for the environment, but it can also perform just as well as traditional wax. In fact, a study by the University of Utah found that plant-based waxes are just as effective as traditional waxes in terms of glide and speed.

Using plant-based snowboard wax is just one way that we at Douk Snow are working to be more eco-conscious. We’re proud to use Face Freeze on all of our boards, and we believe that every little bit helps in the fight to protect our planet.

If you’re interested in using plant-based wax on your own snowboard, look for brands that offer eco-friendly options or try making your own wax from natural ingredients like beeswax and plant oils.

Together, we can all do our part to protect the environment and keep our mountains beautiful for generations to come.
